Dubai Construction Company (DCC) announced Friday the completion of the largest continuous concrete pour in Abdali to date as it finished the foundation raft for the tower portion of the Vertex Tower and Residences.
The raft foundation for the building, a large reinforced concrete monolith, contains 500 tons of steel and over 3,600 cubic meters of ready mix concrete. Work on the raft started weeks ago with the placement of reinforcing steel, however concrete started arriving on site on Thursday evening and continued for 24 hours, followed by 12 hours of finishing. Five large concrete pumps and over 450 trips by ready mix trucks to site were needed to complete this milestone. Wissam Otaky, DCC’s Jordan Area Manager, said “this was a very critical stage for our project. Completing it is a true milestone, and as the largest continuous pour to date in Abdali we are proud to help lead in what we hope will be a long line of achievements in the entire master development. We are very pleased with the performance of all our team of engineers, foremen, labourers and subcontractors. Everyone worked hard as a team over very long hours to successfully complete the work.”
The 90-million-Dinar residential complex consists of a 34-storey tower, flanked by two smaller podiums. It will include over 40 different types of apartments, ranging from a generous 100 square meters to spacious 400 square meter units.
“Vertex Tower & Residences will provide luxurious apartments fully equipped with the latest technologies, and premium in-house gym amenities, in addition to a private cinema and extensive library,” Otaky added.
The project is in an optimum location within the Abdali master development, allowing residents to benefit from the various amenities and services that the Abdali Project will have to offer.
